LENTEN CHARITIES 2024

Please see below letter of gratitude from Fr Judge Nnorom, on behalf of The Sacred Heart Parish in Bincheratanga, Yendi Diocese in the northern region Ghana.

There are also a few photos evidencing the work and renovations our donations have already made possible.

LENTEN CHARITIES 2023

Our chosen Lenten Charities this year are:

MOMENTUM ‘At Momentum we support families whose children are facing cancer or a life-challenging condition. We partner with local hospitals to offer personally tailored support to the entire family, through our family support workers, both in hospital and at home.  We work with families across Surrey, South West London and Sussex, where and when local hospitals in these areas refer families to us for support. Whilst it is through the hospitals that families are referred to us, our support services are there for families whether they are at hospital or at home.  We currently support around 240 families whose child is in active treatment and a further 110 bereaved families. Thousands more benefit from our hospital makeovers.  We’re there whatever the outcome, for as long as we’re needed, so that no family has to cope alone.’

CATHOLIC MISSION IN KOUNDARA , founded in December 1963.  Koundara is a poor town on the border of Senegal and Guinea Bissau, whose inhabitants are predominantly Muslim, although there are also multiple ethnic groups.  Despite the persecution of Christians, Spiritan missionaries continue to journey with this people in a spirit of synodality.  While pastoral ministry is the basic work of the missionaries, they also offer food aid to the children, and are also involved in inter-religious dialogue and the formation of basic Christian community leaders.  They are in dire need of our aid.

Please see below letter of appreciation from Fr Jude Nnorom on behalf of the girls in the primary and secondary schools of Koundara Catholic Parish.
